"Think of it as gymnastics for your mind."

- a reviewer in Glen Rose., Texas.

In Basic Math for Ordinary People,
North Texas author
John Cunyus
delivers summaries of numbers:
addition, subtraction, and the like.

“It’s the stuff we learned back in the 5th grade, then forgot two
days after the test,” Cunyus says.  “Only now we wish we
remembered it.”

So, what’s different about this book?  Cunyus writes the
opening chapters in English and in Spanish.  Savvy readers
can use it to teach basic English and Spanish, alongside the
math.

Sixth-generation Texan John Cunyus is a graduate of
Rice,
TCU, and Pacific Western Universities.  Cunyus served twenty
years as an ordained minister, publishing many books and
articles over that span.  During that time, he served
Christian
churches in Pilot Point, Weatherford, Houston (twice), Lake
Jackson, and Dallas, all in Texas.  In 2005, he left ministry to
work as a writer.

In September, 2006, he published
Flames in the Jungle, first in
a series of Action/Adventure novels set in Colombia, South
America.  In November, 2006, his publisher reissued
Flames of
Faith: A Thumbnail Guide to World Religions, which he wrote in
the aftermath of the September 11th terrorist attacks.  Cunyus
also publishes an online magazine, www.JohnCunyus.com, and
speaks frequently to groups around North Texas.

Cunyus’s upcoming titles include parts two and three of the
Miguel Escalante Trilogy he began with
Flames in the Jungle:
Toromoillo the Hunted (2007) and Angel of Death (2008), both
from
iUniverse.

Books are available on
Amazon.com.

Cunyus, married to the former Rocio Lizarazo of Colombia,
South America, is the father of four children.
